I’ve so enjoyed seeing Blue Hawk out in the world this summer – thank you to everyone who’s sent me pictures of the book on their holidays!

We had a brilliant launch at the 17th century Market House in Minchinhampton back in July – thank you to Hereward Corbett of the Yellow-Lighted Bookshop and Angel Belsey, my publisher at Deixis Press for all their help before and on the night (along with my long-suffering family, who were responsible for distributing cake and fizz to the full house of friends and community members who came along!).

It was also great to be able to thank the many others who have played a role in Blue Hawk’s flight, in particular Ian Mackintosh of Stroud Textile Trust, for being kind enough to read the book for me and enable me to eliminate a few historical inaccuracies (any remaining are there with artistic licence and my fault rather than Ian’s!).

Since then, it’s been great to have some press coverage for Blue Hawk and so encouraging to see the reviews come in: this lovely write-up from Katherine Mezzacappa at the Historical Novel Society, lots of great feedback at Goodreads and NetGalley, and this fab mention in the Irish Independent.

Reviews make all the difference for books published by smaller presses, so if you have read the book and might have time to give your thoughts, I’d be really grateful, whether on Goodreads, Amazon or anywhere else. Thank you!
