Hello, I’m Chloe Turner, a writer from Gloucestershire, UK. This is me reading at a Stroud Short Stories live-lit event last year.
My short stories have been published in various literary magazines and anthologies (see Writing Page for more details). Most recently, I was delighted to be shortlisted and win the Local Prize in the Bath Short Story Award 2018 (for the second year running) with my story Witches Sail in Eggshells, which is also the title story in my upcoming debut collection. I was also thrilled to have my story ‘Waiting for the Runners’ selected for inclusion in the SALT Publishing anthology, Best British Stories 2018.
I am currently editing and will soon be seeking representation for my first novel, Blue Hawk: set in 17th century Gloucestershire, at the height of the woollen industry, a poor weaver’s daughter with a fascination for colour defies personal tragedy to become a successful clothier. It is inspired by the circumstances of several real-life women.
I’m always keen to make new writing friends so please do contact me or find me Twitter @Turnerpentopaper
